Destination : LONDON
WELCOME TO LONDON!
On Thursday the 24th May at approximately 1:30pm British Time, our plane landed smoothly at Heathrow Airport - LONDON! After a hideously long flight, we both couldn't wait to get off the plane and stretch our legs. At Heathrow airport, we had a quiet little chuckle to ourselves as we progressed to the line that said "UK Visa's" with hardly any people it because as we looked at the line for "ALL OTHER'S" it stretched for what seemed like miles. We were processed very quickly and progressed to the luggage reclaim area to get our luggage. After having nothing to declare we were out past customs and onto British Soil!
We had this BRILLIANT idea to catch the "TUBE" from Heathrow (because you can actually do that!) to the destination of our shared living arrangements in Willesden Green. At Heathrow station we met up with some fellow Aussies from Melbourne as well and jumped on the tube in grand tourist style, hoping to know where we were going. Okay so we saved some serious pounds getting on the train, instead of catching a TAXI. However the whole trip turned out to be somewhat of a challenge with us carrying approx 27KG of luggage plus our backpacks. Not to worry, we made it to Willesden Green and promptly discovered that our place of living was approximately5 mins walk from the station. NICE!
We dragged our tired bodies up a flight of stairs and coughed up some pounds to the landlord for our weeks accommodation. Although exhausted, we took a walk down to the shops to pick up a few things for a couple of meals dragged our heels back to our room and fell into bed to catch up on some SERIOUS sleeping time! *Zzzzzzzzz* Stay Tuned.....
